LOL @ KK and Fleaman!
I carry the card too. I've also told my family of my wishes - the only parts of me I'm not donating is my eyes - because my sis wouldn't want me to and they're probably no good anyway!

now this might be childish and immature but we all have our moments... i was thinking of some pranks to pull on the kh and one i thought of is calling during every meeting doing different voices (block your number) and ask for pizza, chinese food, you name it.
also i work at a call center for a magazine company and i was thinking that on my last day that i will set up a trial subscription for them they will get sooo much junk mail and invoices hehe .
any good ideas of more pranks?
I think yours are the best and most harmless ideas lucifer!
Definitely don't try anything classed as criminal or criminal damage.
And making false calls to the emergency services is an absolute no-no. That could cost somebody else their life while the service is dealing with a hoax.
Uh, I don't think you can get tetanus from sitting on a thumbtack.TallTexan - I think it depends on where the thumb tack has been before it contacts your butt
here's a searchable online version of animal farm by george orwell.
it's a short read, but very rich.
wanna cover it in ten weeks, a chapter a week?
I'd like to try it! Haven't read it since I was at junior school but I loved it
I also studied '1984' for my English Lit 'O' Level. Equally good and frightening
.
then why do we have homeless people, millions starving, millions others living in poverty.
seems like a mighty ineffective 2 billion believers.
If Christians are only 1/3 of the worlds population what the hell are the other 2/3 doing about homelessness, starvation and poverty?
Why don't they shift off their fat arses and do something instead of expecting the Christians to fix everything?
- And yes that was very tongue in cheek, there are relief organisations from many other religious and secular groups as well as Christian groups who ARE doing a helluva lot to help alleviate suffering and injustice. Just trying to redress the balance a little.
'If you aren't part of the solution, you're part of the problem'
i personaly belivive the people who r anointed on earth today would be lovers of god and they would be united in thought of the only true god jehovah and his son jesus christ
i understand what your saying but from what i can see your dwelling on all the negitive all the question that cant be answered.instead of dwelling on all the positives.i belivive me going out preaching and living a clean life is jehovah Gods will.i serve jehovah no one else i beleive the governing body r giving out the spirtual food at the proper time.im not saying everything is correct.but im not going to give my faith up just because i dont understand a certain point.i try to look at the big picture.the isralite nation all ways did things wrong but faithful men like moses and abraham looked at the bigger picture
Just dropping in to say wow, that's the best post I've read from you so far PMJ!! Now, to get the bigger picture, do you see that other individual Christians have roughly the same goals as you - serve Jehovah, live a godly life, preach - if they believe that is what God has called them to, not believing everything taught by their respective leaders is correct - but holding to their faith. Because of this I believe there are anointed Christians both in 'Christendom' and in 'Jehovahs organisation' in spite of doctrinal differences. Many parts with different functions - but only one body - Paul Whoever is not against us is for us - Jesus

You could try trawling this site if you think they might be in the UK - Not sure if the 2001 census is actually available online yet but there is loads of other info which might get you started.
Also, have you tried the Mormon genealogical records website (sorry I don't have a link for this - GENUKI or something like, I think)
this article in the 8-15-1993 watchtower is classic.
i recall there was a diagram of a human brain with a depiction of the layers of mental 'permafrost'.
i have highlighted a few points.
Does anyone know if a similar article has appeared in a more recent WT?
I'm sure I've read something like this in the last couple of years or so.
ankerberg theological research institute - the john ankerberg show
Their publishing arm is called Living Stream Ministries which is a member of the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association - along with Harvest House . They publish the writings of Watchman Nee and Witness Nee and the church may rely heavily on the writings of these two - possibly why it's suggested they are sectarian?
So much for sticking to the Biblical NT teaching of not dragging fellow believers through the civil courts...

personally i'm hetero, though a few of my gay friends would like me to be gay .

Is there anything in the gospels regarding Christ's view of homosexuality?
Theologian Jeffrey John (the gay cleric who nearly became Bishop of Oxford a couple of years ago I think) suggests that the healing of the centurion's servant signified Jesus' acceptance of homosexuality because in that time the servant would have been more than 'just a servant'. The fact that Jesus decided to heal him is taken to mean that he looks at the person first rather than their sexuality.

I'm against gay marriage (as in a 'mainstream' religious service) because this is against the teaching of most of the main religions. Civil ceremonies - no problem for me as these fall outside the remit of religion.

PPS: That said; Why Gays want to marry is another matter
I think it's largely due to the legal side - you know, like property inheritance, mortgages and stuff like that - as well as wanting to make a public declaration of their love for one another - which I think is a good thing.
